Pakistan’s Shehzad Butt has qualified for the final of the World Disabled Snooker Championship after an impressive semi-final victory over China’s Yuan Huan He.
Butt secured his place in the title clash with a commanding 3-1 win in frames. He delivered a consistent performance throughout the match to book a spot in Sunday’s final.
The Pakistani cueist will now face defending champion Song Kiat Ribenko of Thailand in the championship decider. The final is scheduled to begin at 8:00 am on Sunday.
Butt has been one of the standout performers at the tournament. He has compiled two of the highest breaks of the competition, recording impressive breaks of 71 and 81 during his campaign.
The Lahore-born player has built a strong international reputation through his achievements in disability snooker. Earlier in his career, he claimed the European Championship title by defeating England’s Dave Bolton in the final and completed the tournament without losing a single match.
Last year, Butt also earned a bronze medal at the World Disabled Snooker Championship held in Thailand, further strengthening his credentials on the international stage.
His qualification for the final marks another significant achievement for Pakistan in international cue sports. A victory over reigning champion Song Kiat Ribenko would secure Butt his first World Disabled Snooker Championship title and add another major honour to his growing list of accomplishments.
