Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Syed Mohsin Naqvi has announced a historic partnership with the Saudi Arabia Cricket Federation to develop a state-of-the-art international cricket stadium in Jeddah. Naqvi, who also serves as Pakistan’s Interior Minister, finalized the landmark strategic agreement alongside Saudi cricket chief Prince Saud bin Mishal Al Saud. The collaborative venture aims to actively expand the Kingdom’s sports infrastructure and establish a premier venue capable of hosting major global cricket tournaments.
Following a high-level meeting, both cricket heads officially signed the comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding to seal the partnership. Under the framework of the new agreement, the PCB will actively provide crucial technical expertise, architectural stadium planning assistance, and rigorous operational standards. The designated project directly aligns with the broader sports development agenda of Saudi Vision 2030, which actively prioritizes sports tourism and public athletic participation.
During a Friday morning inspection, Naqvi and Prince Saud toured the current stadium facility built at the King Fahd Abdulaziz University in Jeddah. Naqvi systematically examined various enclosures and discussed proposed structural changes with senior engineers. The PCB chief expressed deep gratitude for Prince Saud’s continuous institutional support and confirmed that the upcoming facility will strictly adhere to all International Cricket Council regulations.
Officials anticipate that the completed state-of-the-art venue will swiftly secure international hosting rights for the Kingdom. Naqvi described the strategic alliance as an enduring milestone that will firmly unite the cricket communities of both nations. While the board has not yet chosen a specific project completion timeline, the initiative represents the first major sports infrastructure collaboration between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
