Suspicious Website Claims to Offer Scheme Information
A website claiming to be the official portal for the CM Punjab Electric Bike Scheme 2026 has gone viral on social media.
The website is being shared widely as an information platform for the Punjab governmentโs electric bike initiative. However, several warning signs suggest that it may not be an official government website.
The portal, hosted at e-bikescheme.pk, presents scheme details, figures and application-related information. But its content raises serious concerns about authenticity and user safety.
Applicants are being advised to avoid entering personal details on any suspicious website until the Punjab government officially announces a verified registration portal.
Unrelated Keywords and Redirect Links Raise Questions
One of the biggest red flags on the website is the presence of random and unrelated keywords placed within the content.
These include terms such as โTeen Patti,โ โBro444Game,โ โy999,โ โPlay_pkrโ and other similar phrases.
When users click these words, they are redirected to third-party websites linked to online games and platforms claiming to offer real-money earnings.
This type of content has no connection with the Punjab governmentโs electric bike scheme.
It is also not consistent with the standards of official government websites.
Government portals usually carry verified ownership details, official department links, contact information and secure registration systems. This website appears to lack clear government ownership and does not seem to be linked from any verified Punjab government platform.
The presence of suspicious outbound links makes the portal highly questionable.
Punjab Government Has Announced E-Bike Expansion
The Punjab government has announced a major expansion of its electric bike program.
Under the initiative, 100,000 electric bikes will be distributed over the next year.
Each electric bike will carry a subsidy of Rs. 70,000.
Male students will pay a down payment of Rs. 14,000. They will then pay interest-free monthly installments of Rs. 2,100.
For women students, the government will cover the down payment and registration fee. They will only have to pay the monthly installment.
The scheme is also expected to be extended to government employees in a later phase.
The initiative is part of Punjabโs broader green transport plan. It aims to promote affordable, environment-friendly mobility across the province.
No Official Registration Portal Announced Yet
Despite the schemeโs announcement, the Punjab government has not yet launched an official online registration portal.
It has also not announced the complete application process.
This means citizens should be careful before trusting websites claiming to offer registration or application services.
Applicants should wait for official updates from verified Punjab government channels.
They should not submit CNIC numbers, phone numbers, bank details, educational information or payment details on unofficial portals.
Fake websites can be used to collect personal data, mislead applicants or redirect users to unsafe platforms.
The viral website has created confusion among students and potential applicants.
Authorities are expected to clarify the official registration process once the scheme moves to the application stage.
Until then, users should verify every link before opening it and avoid sharing suspicious portals on social media.
