Karachi police have expanded their investigation into an alleged drug trafficking network linked to Anmol alias Pinky after reports surfaced that the group used popular snack packets to conceal and deliver cocaine across the city. Authorities are examining the networkโs operations, including its delivery methods, payment channels, and supply chain activities.
Police arrested Anmol Pinky earlier this month during a joint raid conducted at her apartment in Karachiโs Garden area. The operation was carried out with the assistance of a civilian intelligence agency. It ultimately led to a case involving the alleged possession of narcotics and an unlicensed weapon. However, investigators suspect that associates connected to the network may have continued operating after her arrest.
Investigators Examine Concealed Drug Delivery Methods
According to preliminary investigation findings, members of the alleged network reportedly concealed cocaine inside packets of well-known snacks, including chips and papad. Authorities believe the method allowed suppliers to transport narcotics discreetly while reducing the risk of detection.
Sources familiar with the investigation claimed that the concealed packets were delivered to customers at homes, and restaurants, across Karachi. In one alleged exchange, a supplier informed a customer that multiple snack packets would arrive through a delivery rider, while one packet would secretly contain cocaine.
Police Trace Financial Transactions and Supply Chain
Meanwhile, investigators are also focusing on the financial operations of the suspected network. According to reports, individuals linked to the group allegedly shared fresh account numbers with customers for payments. These accounts reportedly included digital payment methods and temporary accounts created for limited use.
As the investigation progresses, authorities are reviewing communication records, payment trails, and delivery patterns. Consequently, the case has attracted significant attention due to the alleged sophistication of the smuggling operation.
Police officials stated that inquiries remain ongoing as they work to identify all individuals connected to the suspected network and uncover the full extent of its activities.
