Iranโs Foreign Ministry has commented on the outcome of talks held in Switzerland with US Vice President JD Vance, announcing several new diplomatic and security coordination steps.
In a statement on Monday, Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said the discussions led to the formation of a โConflict Control Unitโ aimed at stabilizing front lines in the Middle East, including Lebanon.
Communication Hotline and Regional Stability
Furthermore, Baghaei said a direct hotline has been established to address urgent issues in the Strait of Hormuz. He added that Iran can use this channel if problems arise in the region, helping reduce the risk of escalation.
In addition, he confirmed the creation of a working group focused on Iranโs nuclear file. This group will begin operations once the United States fully implements Clause 13 of the agreement, he said.
Moreover, he stated that Iran has signed agreements with Qatar regarding the release of frozen Iranian assets. The move is described as part of broader financial and diplomatic coordination between the parties.
Sanctions Relief and Energy Exports
Baghaei further said Iran has received documents from the United States allowing the sale of oil, gas, and petrochemical products without sanctions for 60 days. He described this as an important temporary relief measure.
Meanwhile, officials emphasized that the new mechanisms are designed to reduce tensions, improve communication, and prevent misunderstandings in sensitive regions such as the Strait of Hormuz and Lebanon.
