WASHINGTON DC: The approval rating for the President of the United States, Mr. Donald Trump, remains at 36% according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll. Even though the number of supporters has not changed since last month, there has been a significant fall compared to his previous approval of 47% when he first assumed office in January 2025.
Public concern grows over leadership style
There have been a lot of questions raised by Americans regarding the temperaments of Mr. Trump, particularly given the prevailing conflicts between Iran. For instance, just 26% of participants considered him to be an even-tempered individual.
Another area of concern for Americans regarding Mr. Trump is his cognitive capabilities, which have been deteriorating in the last year according to a majority of 51%.
Foreign policy and rhetoric draw criticism
However, even today, the way Trump has managed the situation between the United States and Iran plays an important role in shaping opinions. While only 36% of American citizens approve of strikes by US forces against Iran, fewer Americans โ a mere 26% โ approve of Trumpโs ability to handle living expenses in light of the increased cost of gas.
In addition to this, Trump is also facing some controversies owing to his statements against Pope Leo, who enjoys popularity amongst Americans. More than 60% of the participants viewed the Pope in a positive light, as opposed to only 36% for Trump.
As far as future prospects are concerned, the poll reflects that there is a general dissatisfaction with the foreign policies adopted by the US, especially regarding NATO threats and issues related to Greenland.
Trumpโs approval rating still stands at 36%, owing to the Iran situation, costs, and temperament.
