Police Say Video Was Created to Humiliate Woman Online
Bahawalnagar Saddar police have arrested a male TikToker for allegedly creating and uploading an AI-generated fake video of a rival female TikToker on social media.
According to the FIR registered on Thursday, the suspect has been identified as Zain, a resident of village 430/6R. Police said he allegedly created the manipulated video with the help of an unidentified accomplice.
The female TikToker, who also runs a beauty salon in village 37/3R, was allegedly targeted to damage her reputation and humiliate her online.
Police said the woman filed a complaint after the fake video was shared on social media. The case was then registered, and an investigation was launched.
Officials said Zain was arrested on Friday, while his alleged accomplice remains at large. Police are continuing efforts to trace and arrest the second suspect.
Jealousy Over Social Media Views Cited as Motive
Police sources said the suspect confessed that jealousy was the reason behind the alleged act. He reportedly admitted that he uploaded the fake video because the female TikTokerโs content was receiving more views than his.
Investigators said the case highlights the growing misuse of artificial intelligence and social media platforms for personal revenge, harassment and character assassination.
Police also said the suspect allegedly used abusive language and issued death threats when the woman confronted him about the video.
The incident has raised serious concerns about online safety, especially for women using digital platforms for work, content creation and business promotion.
Authorities say digital harassment cases are becoming more complex because AI tools can now be used to create fake images, videos and misleading content.
Related Case Ends With Death Sentence
In a separate case from the same region, a sessions court sentenced a man to death for killing his wife in the name of honour in Haroonabad around seven months ago.
According to the prosecution, Arshad, a resident of village 55/4R, had married his cousin Tahira Parveen about 20 years ago. The couple had one son and two daughters.
The prosecution said Arshad suspected his wifeโs character and frequently tortured her. On December 25, 2025, he stabbed her in the neck with a knife and fled the scene. She died on the spot.
Saddar police registered a murder case under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the victimโs mother, Shakeela. The suspect was later arrested.
Additional Sessions Judge Malik Naeem Shaukat sentenced Arshad to death and ordered him to pay Rs500,000 in compensation to the victimโs family.
Both cases have renewed debate over violence against women, digital harassment, online abuse and the need for stronger legal action against technology-based exploitation.
