The Federal Investigation Agency has arrested an alleged human smuggler over a suspected Canada visa fraud case involving Rs6 million.
The FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Islamabad carried out the arrest. Investigators identified the suspect as Nadeem Masih, son of Nazir Masih.
According to the FIA, the suspect allegedly promised a complainant that he would arrange his travel to Canada.
The complainant reportedly paid Rs6 million for the promised arrangement. However, investigators allege that the suspect deceived him after receiving the money.
Case Registered Under Multiple Sections
Following the arrest, authorities registered a case against the suspect. The case was filed through FIR No. 592/26. It includes Sections 18 and 22 of the Emigration Ordinance, 1979.
The FIR also includes Sections 419, 420, 468 and 471 of the Pakistan Penal Code. These provisions relate to offences involving alleged cheating, deception, forgery and the use of fraudulent documents.
However, the allegations remain subject to investigation and legal proceedings.
FIA Continues Investigation
The operation was conducted by Inspector Muhammad Azeem and Assistant Sub-Inspector Mazhar Shah.
Following the arrest, FIA investigators began further proceedings in the case. The agency said the investigation remains underway. Authorities will examine the allegations, the financial transaction and the circumstances surrounding the promised travel arrangement.
The case highlights the risks people can face when dealing with individuals who promise overseas travel or employment through unofficial arrangements.
For now, the FIA is continuing to investigate the alleged fraud and determine the full circumstances of the case.
