The Prime Minister’s special petrol relief scheme has become a potential target for scammers seeking to deceive citizens. Therefore, the Ministry of Information Technology has decided to launch an anti-fraud awareness campaign.

Federal Minister for IT Shaza Fatima Khawaja has directed the ministry to complete preparations for the campaign. The initiative aims to warn citizens about possible fraud attempts linked to the petrol relief scheme.

Government Warns Citizens About Petrol Relief Scams

Shaza Fatima said scammers could misuse the name of the petrol relief scheme to defraud citizens. Consequently, she stressed the need to raise public awareness before such attempts cause financial or personal harm.

The federal minister urged citizens to remain cautious about suspicious calls and messages related to the relief scheme. She also advised people not to share their personal information with anyone.

Meanwhile, the government is preparing to release details of individuals registered under the Prime Minister’s special relief scheme. Shaza Fatima said the details would be released today.

Registration Problems Under Review

The minister also said authorities were taking steps to resolve difficulties citizens face during the registration process. However, some applicants may encounter problems because of incorrect information entered during registration.

According to Shaza Fatima, registration may fail if an applicant selects the wrong province. Similarly, entering the date of birth in an incorrect format can also cause registration problems.

Therefore, citizens completing the registration process have been advised to select the province where their vehicle is registered. This step is important for applicants seeking registration under the petrol relief scheme.
