Girlsโ School Destroyed in South Waziristan Blast
A fresh wave of terrorism has raised serious concern in South Waziristan Lower and Bannu district.
In the latest incident, unidentified terrorists blew up a government girlsโ primary school in the Sara Ghora area of Barmal Tehsil.
The attack took place during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday.
Explosive material was used in the blast, which destroyed the entire school building.
District Police Officer Muhammad Tahir Shah Wazir confirmed the incident.
He said a case has been registered and police have started an investigation.
No group has claimed responsibility so far.
Educational Institutions Under Threat
Local sources said this is the third government educational institution targeted with explosives in South Waziristan Lower in recent months.
Tribal elders and civil society members strongly condemned the attack.
They said targeting schools is an attack on the future of the region.
The incident has created fresh concern over girlsโ education in remote tribal areas.
Residents said education is already facing major challenges due to insecurity and lack of facilities.
They urged authorities to take immediate action to protect schools, teachers and students.
Bannu Sees Multiple Security Incidents
Bannu also witnessed several security incidents on Wednesday.
Terrorists used a quadcopter to drop two locally made bombs inside Haved Police Station.
The explosions injured two FC personnel and damaged two official vehicles.
The injured officials were given immediate medical treatment.
In another incident, Nisar Ahmed, head teacher of Government High School in Mandiu area of Miryan Tehsil, was allegedly abducted by armed men from school premises.
The kidnapping caused fear among teachers and education staff.
Earlier, a suspected drone attack in Narmi Khel injured rickshaw driver Asifullah.
Mortar shells were also fired at Bannu Cantonment, with two rounds landing at the old ROD Ground.
No casualties were reported in the mortar attack, but panic spread in the area.
A retired FC man, Ali Mar Khan, was also abducted from Jani Khel.
Residents have called on authorities to improve security and stop the rising wave of violence in the region.
