The agreements were signed during the Pakistan-South Korea Business Conference held in Seoul on Thursday.
More than 170 Pakistani and South Korean business representatives participated in the conference.
Pakistan, South Korea Move Closer to CEPA
Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan addressed the conference through a video link and called for stronger business ties.
He said the conference had brought Pakistan and South Korea closer to a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
According to Kamal, the agreement could further expand trade cooperation between the two countries.
He also said CEPA would create new opportunities for Pakistani exporters across international markets.
The first phase of Pakistan-South Korea CEPA negotiations was successfully completed on Thursday.
The second round of negotiations is expected to take place soon, according to the commerce minister.
Six MoUs Signed Across Key Sectors
The business conference also produced six important B2B agreements between Pakistani and South Korean companies.
The MoUs cover several sectors, including salt, cosmetics, oil and sesame.
The agreements were described as an important business-to-business development for strengthening Pakistan-South Korea trade relations.
Meanwhile, business delegations from Sialkot, Gujranwala and other chambers participated in the Seoul conference.
Their participation provided an opportunity for Pakistani businesses to engage directly with South Korean counterparts.
Second Business Conference Planned for 2027
Pakistan and South Korea will hold the second Pakistan-South Korea Business Conference in Seoul in March 2027.
The upcoming conference will focus on Pakistanโs export potential across several major sectors.
These sectors include textiles, leather, surgical goods, sports products, agricultural products and information technology.
Therefore, the next business conference is expected to provide another platform for companies to explore commercial opportunities.
The latest agreements and progress on CEPA negotiations reflect efforts to strengthen economic engagement between Pakistan and South Korea.
For Pakistani exporters, broader market access could also create opportunities to increase exports across multiple industries.
