Security forces and police killed 49 militants during intelligence-based operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, the military said Friday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, 12 militants were killed during operations in Bannu, North Waziristan, Orakzai and Khyber districts.
The security forces also recovered and destroyed explosives, improvised explosive device remotes, weapons, ammunition and motorcycles during the operations.
Meanwhile, security forces killed 37 militants in 10 intelligence-based operations across Mastung, Mach, Khuzdar and Panjgur districts.
The ISPR said the militants belonged to Fitna al-Hindustan and operated with Indian support.
Additionally, troops seized weapons, explosive drums and remote detonation equipment during the operations.
The military said the actions formed part of Pakistanโs ongoing counterterrorism campaign against militant networks.
Earlier this week, separate intelligence-based operations in Ziarat, Harnai and Surab killed nine militants under Operation Rad-ul-Fitna-3.
Security sources said troops recovered ammunition, magazines, hand grenades, walkie-talkies, a motorcycle and other equipment.
Meanwhile, terrorism has increased in KP and Balochistan since 2021, following the Afghan Talibanโs return to power.
According to the Centre for Research and Security Studies, both provinces accounted for nearly 96% of violence-related deaths during the second quarter of 2026.
KP recorded 475 deaths, representing more than 61%, while Balochistan reported 265 fatalities, or 34%.
