Military Officials Increase Monitoring and Readiness Measures
Intelligence assessments on Thursday raised concerns that Iran could potentially consider a surprise military action involving missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles targeting Gulf states and Israel amid ongoing regional tensions.
According to reports, officials discussed the possibility during a situational assessment attended by senior military leaders and Defence Minister Israel Katz. The discussions reportedly focused on evaluating potential security developments while diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran continued.
Security officials suggested that Tehran could attempt a preemptive move if Iranian leadership concluded that negotiations were nearing collapse. Furthermore, officials reportedly considered scenarios in which military actions could emerge before the United States and Israel determine that diplomatic efforts have failed.
The concerns surfaced as differences reportedly persisted between US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding approaches to Iran and future policy decisions.
However, no official statement publicly confirmed that an attack was imminent.
US-Israel Coordination Expands Following Recent Assessments

Reports indicated that the Air Force and operational military leadership held multiple discussions aimed at improving readiness and strengthening intelligence sharing regarding unusual activities linked to Iran.
Additionally, military commanders continued broader security assessments covering both defensive and operational planning. Officials reportedly focused on improving response capabilities and maintaining preparedness for multiple scenarios.
Sources also stated that recent evaluations strengthened joint cooperation in areas including threat detection, identification systems, missile interception capabilities, technology integration, and operational coordination.
Furthermore, reports indicated that military support and equipment transfers involving the United States and Israel increased significantly over the past month.
Despite heightened security activity, diplomatic negotiations between Washington and Tehran continued, while regional powers closely monitored developments surrounding the fragile ceasefire and broader stability concerns.
