The ambassador stated that the individual mentioned in recent media reports had not applied for a Russian visa through the embassy. He added that Pakistani authorities are currently investigating the matter and findings are expected soon.
The envoy emphasized that Russia is not officially recruiting Pakistanis for military operations linked to the Ukraine conflict. His remarks came amid growing public discussion following media reports on alleged recruitment attempts.
Moscow Supports Pakistan’s Role in US-Iran Diplomacy
During the briefing, Ambassador Khorev praised Pakistan’s efforts to reduce tensions between the United States and Iran. He said Russia fully supports mediation initiatives that promote peaceful dialogue and diplomatic engagement.
According to the ambassador, Moscow welcomes all international efforts aimed at easing tensions between Washington and Tehran. He stressed that diplomacy remains the best path for resolving regional disputes and maintaining stability.
The Russian envoy also thanked Pakistan for supporting Russia-backed resolutions at the United Nations related to combating Nazism and racial intolerance.
Russian Ambassador Blames West for Escalating Ukraine Conflict
Ambassador Khorev accused Ukraine and its Western allies of prolonging the ongoing war. He claimed Ukrainian forces repeatedly violated recent ceasefire arrangements announced by Russia during Victory Day commemorations.
The envoy alleged that Western countries, including NATO members, continue to provide military and financial support to Ukraine, contributing to further escalation. He also claimed foreign fighters from several countries are participating in combat operations alongside Ukrainian forces.
The ambassador criticized international initiatives targeting Russia over the Ukraine conflict. He described several proposed legal actions and investigations as politically motivated.
Khorev also raised concerns about energy infrastructure attacks, corruption allegations, and internal instability in Ukraine. He accused Ukrainian authorities of coercive military mobilization and human rights violations during recruitment operations.
The Russian ambassador concluded by reaffirming Moscow’s position on Crimea and criticized what he described as Western-led disinformation campaigns against Russia.
