Pakistan has recorded a major response to its digital Hajj payment system, with pilgrims depositing more than Rs. 31 billion within 24 hours. The Ministry of Religious Affairs confirmed the development as online applications continued to rise.
The number of Hajj applications submitted through the digital facility has now crossed 50,000. The figure highlights growing use of online services for the annual pilgrimage.
Hajj Payments Cross Rs. 31 Billion
Under the government’s Hajj scheme, thousands of pilgrims have already completed their payments through the digital system. Around 22,000 pilgrims have paid under the Short Hajj Scheme.
Meanwhile, approximately 28,000 pilgrims have completed payments under the Long Hajj Scheme. Together, these figures account for the more than 50,000 applications processed through the online facility.
The payment system has also attracted users from across Pakistan. Pilgrims from all four provinces have used the facility to submit their payments.
Moreover, online payments have also been received from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Islamabad. This wide participation shows the growing reach of digital services for Hajj arrangements.
Three Payment Options Available
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has introduced three payment methods through the Pak Hajj app and Hajj portal. These options give pilgrims greater flexibility when completing their Hajj payments.
Pilgrims can use One Link to transfer their required amount digitally. They can also make payments through eligible bank cards.
Additionally, the ministry has provided the option of paying through bank challans. This allows pilgrims to choose a payment method that suits their circumstances.
Digital System Simplifies Hajj Payments
The online payment facility aims to make the Hajj payment process quicker and more convenient. It also reduces the need for pilgrims to rely entirely on traditional payment procedures.
Furthermore, the digital system allows pilgrims across the country to complete payments through multiple channels. This can make the process easier for applicants living outside major urban centres.
The growing number of applications also reflects strong interest in the digital Hajj system. More than 50,000 pilgrims have now submitted applications since the online payment service became available.
With payments exceeding Rs. 31 billion in just 24 hours, the platform has quickly become an important part of Pakistan’s Hajj arrangements. The system is expected to provide pilgrims with a simpler and more accessible payment experience.
