Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan and former captain Babar Azam improved their positions in the latest ICC Test rankings. The updated standings reflected positive movement for several Pakistani players across batting and bowling categories.
Rizwan and Babar each climbed one place in the Test batting rankings. Rizwan now occupies 20th position, while Babar moved to 21st. Meanwhile, middle-order batters Saud Shakeel and Salman Ali Agha retained their places. They continue to hold 25th and 27th positions, respectively.
Pakistan captain Shan Masood slipped one place to 44th with 558 rating points. However, opener Imam-ul-Haq maintained his 52nd position with 522 points. Abdullah Shafique also improved his standing by one place. He now ranks 54th with 517 rating points.
Pakistan Batters Show Mixed Results
Young batter Abdullah Fazal experienced a slight decline in the rankings. He dropped one place and now sits at the 97th position. Despite this setback, several Pakistan batters either improved or maintained their standings.
Globally, England’s Joe Root continues to lead the Test batting rankings. His teammate Harry Brook remains second in the standings. Furthermore, Australia’s Travis Head holds third position among Test batters.
Pakistan Bowlers Maintain Strong Presence
Pakistan spinner Noman Ali retained seventh place with 817 rating points. Fast bowlers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Abbas each gained one position. They now rank 25th and 27th respectively in the bowling standings.
Additionally, spinner Sajid Khan remained 31st in the rankings. Hasan Ali holds 38th position, while Khurram Shahzad ranks 46th. However, Asif Afridi and Salman Ali Agha slipped to 83rd and 90th, respectively.
India’s Jasprit Bumrah continues to lead the Test bowling rankings. Australia’s Mitchell Starc remains second, while Pat Cummins moved into third place.
