LAHORE: The Punjab Information and Culture Department has decided to include the four-day Pakistan-India conflict, known as Marka-i-Haq, in the educational curriculum and produce films highlighting the events and national unity.
The decision emerged during a meeting of the Information Steering Committee chaired by Punjab Information and Culture Minister Azma Bokhari on Wednesday.
According to officials, authorities aim to promote patriotism among students by incorporating content related to Marka-i-Haq into academic material. Furthermore, private educational institutions will organise programmes focused on national unity and the conflict in coordination with public institutions.
The military confrontation between Pakistan and India last year marked one of the regionโs most serious escalations in recent years. The conflict involved artillery exchanges, drone activity, missile strikes, and aerial engagements along the Line of Control.
Films and Cultural Programmes Planned
Meanwhile, the committee also approved plans to produce films on Marka-i-Haq under the Film Fund to strengthen the national narrative.
In addition, authorities announced a special theatre production based on the life and sacrifice of Shaheed Liaquat under the supervision of the Alhamra Arts Council.
The meeting further requested the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations to continue educational visits aimed at providing intellectual and ideological guidance to students.
Authorities Announce Muharram Monitoring Measures
Separately, Minister Azma Bokhari directed officials to intensify action against hate speech and provocative social media content ahead of Muharram.
Authorities will establish a joint monitoring cell involving the information and home departments to monitor online activity and prevent misinformation. Officials warned that authorities would take strict legal action against individuals spreading sectarian hatred or rumours.
Meanwhile, an art exhibition titled โMarka-i-Haqโ opened at Alhamra Arts Council, featuring over 40 paintings honouring Pakistanโs armed forces and national unity themes.
