The Punjab government has launched applications for Phase-II Batch-II of the CM Punjab Climate Leadership Development Internship Program. The initiative offers young graduates practical experience in climate action and environmental governance. Additionally, selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 60,000 for three months.
Program Offers Training and Field Experience
The Environment Protection and Climate Change Department Punjab is conducting the internship program. It aims to develop young climate leaders through practical assignments, field learning, and policy exposure. Moreover, participants will gain hands-on experience in environmental governance across the province.
The internship includes district-wise learning opportunities and access to a Learning Management System. Interns will also work in EPA field offices and climate policy units. Furthermore, the program offers capstone projects, expert mentorship, and certification related to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
A key feature of the initiative is the reservation of 50 percent of seats for female candidates. Consequently, the program encourages greater participation of young women in climate leadership and public sector careers.
