ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Super League (PSL) recorded a sharp rise in revenue and profit in 2026 following its expansion from six to eight franchises, according to financial details submitted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to the Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat.
The figures revealed that PSL Season 11 generated total revenue of more than Rs10.195 billion. Meanwhile, total expenditure for the tournament exceeded Rs2.645 billion. As a result, the PCB earned a pre-tax profit of over Rs7.549 billion from the event.
The leagueโs expansion played a key role in boosting financial performance. Increased commercial activity, sponsorship opportunities and franchise participation contributed to the strong revenue growth during the season.
According to the submitted details, the PCB also received more than Rs1.29 billion as its share from the central revenue pool. This amount further strengthened the boardโs earnings from the tournament.
In comparison, PSL 2025 generated a profit of Rs2 billion. Similarly, PSL 2024 produced a profit of Rs2.46 billion. Therefore, the 2026 season delivered a dramatic improvement in profitability.
The latest figures show that profit in 2026 increased by more than Rs5.48 billion compared with the previous season. Consequently, PSL recorded its most profitable year since the competition was launched.
The financial results highlight the growing commercial strength of Pakistanโs premier T20 tournament. Furthermore, the addition of two new teams expanded the leagueโs reach and increased its appeal among sponsors, broadcasters and cricket fans.
