MAKKAH Al MUKARRAMAH: Princess Fahda bint Falah Al Hathleen, spouse of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, honored the female winners of the 46th King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorizing, Reciting and Interpreting the Holy Quran.
The closing ceremony for the womenโs section was held in Makkah under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and was organized by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a recorded address by Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh.
The minister said the 46th edition marked a new chapter in the history of the prestigious competition, featuring international participation by female contestants and, for the first time, a dedicated closing ceremony for the womenโs section.
He said the development reflected the generous support and patronage extended to the competition by the Saudi leadership.
Congratulating the contestants on their participation, Sheikh Dr. Al Alsheikh emphasized that the true honor of those who memorize the Holy Quran lies in embodying its teachings through knowledge, conduct, morals and behavior.
He urged the Quran memorizers to serve as exemplary ambassadors of the Holy Quran and representatives of goodness in their respective countries.
The ceremony highlighted the Kingdomโs continued efforts to promote Quranic learning and encourage excellence in memorization, recitation and understanding of the Holy Quran among participants from around the world.
