PCB Approves Major Financial Plan
The Pakistan Cricket Board has approved a surplus budget for the financial year 2026-27.
The decision was taken during the 84th meeting of the PCB Board of Governors at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The meeting was chaired by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.
The Board of Governors unanimously approved the new budget. The plan focuses on domestic cricket, infrastructure development, player payments, and the financial future of the Pakistan Super League.
One of the biggest decisions was the increase in domestic cricket funding. The allocation has been raised from Rs3 billion to Rs4 billion.
The board said this increase will support local cricket structures. It will also help improve player payments and regional cricket operations.
PCB Chief Financial Officer Javed Murtaza briefed the board on key budget features. He also presented financial projections for the new fiscal year.
Domestic Players Get Major Match Fee Increase
The PCB also approved a major increase in match fees for domestic cricketers.
Players taking part in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy will now receive Rs100,000 per match. Previously, they were paid Rs30,000 per match.
Reserve players will also get higher payments. Their match fee has been increased from Rs15,000 to Rs50,000.
The board also approved the format and payment mechanism for the national teamโs new central contracts.
The move is expected to benefit domestic players and strengthen Pakistanโs cricket structure. It may also encourage more players to focus on red-ball and regional cricket.
The board also allocated funds for womenโs One-Day and T20 tournaments. This step is aimed at expanding womenโs cricket and improving competitive opportunities.
A minimum monthly salary of Rs42,000 was also approved for regional ground staff.

The board decided to make the PSL administratively and financially independent. This decision is expected to give the league more operational freedom.
The PCB also approved funds to operationalise 12 additional cricket grounds across the country.
A total of Rs6.7 billion has been earmarked for the upgradation of National Bank Stadium in Karachi and other cricket infrastructure projects.
The board also approved funding for a biomechanics machine at the Lahore High Performance Centre. The machine will help improve player testing, injury prevention, and performance analysis.
