Pakistan Army Player Clinches PCA Independent Squash Cup in Sydney
Pakistan’s talented deaf squash player Sana Bahadur has added another international title to her growing list of achievements after winning the PCA Independent Squash Cup 2026 in Australia.
Representing the Pakistan Army, Sana secured the title at the Canterbury Club in Sydney, continuing an impressive run on the Australian squash circuit.
According to local media reports, Sana faced fellow Pakistani player Noor-ul-Huda in the final.
Sana won the opening game and took an early advantage in the contest.
However, the match came to an unfortunate end during the second game when Noor-ul-Huda suffered an ankle injury.
She was unable to continue and was forced to retire from the final.
Sana was subsequently declared the tournament winner.
The victory represents another important milestone for the Peshawar-born athlete, who has continued to establish herself as one of Pakistan’s promising women squash players.
Second Australian Triumph After Bendigo Open Success
Sana’s latest success comes only days after another major victory in Australia.
Earlier in August, she won the PSA Challenger 3K Bendigo Open 2026, held from August 13 to 16 at the Bendigo Squash Centre in Victoria.
In that final, Sana defeated experienced Australian player Rachael Grinham 3-1 to secure the title. The Pakistan Squash Federation congratulated her and described the victory as another proud moment for Pakistan squash on the international stage.
The Bendigo victory was particularly significant because Grinham is a former world No. 1 and one of Australia’s most accomplished squash players.
Reports described it as Sana’s first Professional Squash Association title, marking an important breakthrough in her international career.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also congratulated Sana following the Bendigo triumph, praising her performance and saying she had made Pakistan proud.
Her latest Sydney victory now strengthens that successful Australian campaign.
Sana Bahadur Continues to Inspire Through Squash
Sana has represented the Pakistan Army in domestic squash competitions for several years.
Pakistan Squash Federation records show her competing for Army in national women’s events alongside leading Pakistani players, including Noor-ul-Huda.
Her achievements carry additional significance because she has pursued competitive squash despite a hearing disability.
Her performances have increasingly attracted attention not only because of her results but also because of the determination required to compete internationally.
The back-to-back successes in Australia underline Sana’s growing confidence and development on the professional circuit.
They also provide Pakistan women’s squash with another positive international result at a time when emerging players are looking to restore the country’s historic presence in the sport.
The PCA Independent Squash Cup victory follows closely after her Bendigo Open title, giving Sana two notable successes during her current Australian campaign.
For Pakistan, her achievements represent another encouraging sign of talent emerging in women’s squash.
For Sana, the latest trophy adds further momentum as she continues to build her international career and compete against stronger opposition abroad.
