Junaid Ali Crowned Individual FTR World Champion at Bisley
Pakistan delivered a historic performance at the 7th F-Class World Championship 2026 in Bisley, United Kingdom, winning the individual FTR world title and finishing second in the prestigious team competition.
Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Ali emerged as the standout performer for Pakistan. He was crowned Individual FTR World Champion after finishing ahead of a world-class field of 207 long-range shooters representing 24 countries.
The achievement is being described as one of the biggest individual successes in Pakistanโs international F-Class shooting history.
Junaid produced consistent performances across the championship and collected three gold medals, one silver medal and one bronze medal during the individual competitions.
Pakistanโs 12-member squad also dominated the overall FTR medal standings.
The team won four gold, four silver and five bronze medals across the individual events, giving Pakistan the highest medal tally in the FTR category at the championship.
The championship brought together some of the worldโs leading long-range rifle shooters.
Individual matches were held on August 12 and 13 at distances of 800, 900 and 1,000 yards, demanding accuracy and consistency across changing conditions at the famous Bisley ranges.
Pakistan Shooters Collect 13 Medals in Individual Events
Junaid Ali was not the only Pakistani shooter to reach the podium.
Muhammad Waleed made a significant contribution by winning one gold and one bronze medal.
Pakistanโs young shooters also delivered impressive results.
Huzaifa Gill secured three silver medals and two bronze medals in the Under-25 category, highlighting the growing depth of young shooting talent in the country.
Ahsan Gill also added a bronze medal to Pakistanโs tally in the Under-25 competition.
Several Pakistani competitors also secured positions among the world championshipโs top 100 shooters.
They included Junaid Ali, Muhammad Waleed, Obaid, Qasim, Huzaifa Gill, Junaid Waqas and Lieutenant General Ahsan Gulrez.
Lieutenant General Ahsan Gulrez led the Pakistani contingent at Bisley.
The strong overall results demonstrated that Pakistanโs success was not dependent on a single shooter but reflected growing depth across the squad.
Pakistan had already shown strong form before the world championship.
At the F-Class British Open 2026, also held at Bisley from August 3 to 8, the Pakistani team won 13 medals, including seven gold, two silver and four bronze medals.
That competition served as an important preparation event before the world championship.
Pakistan Finishes Runner-Up in FTR Team Championship
Pakistan continued its impressive run when attention shifted from individual competition to the FTR team event.
The team championship was contested on August 15 and 16, again involving shooting at 800, 900 and 1,000 yards.
A total of 11 national teams competed for the team title, including countries with former world and European champions.
Pakistan remained in contention throughout the closely fought contest.
After competing against some of the most experienced F-Class teams in the world, Pakistan secured the runner-up position and silver medal.
The result gave Pakistan podium finishes in both the individual and team world championship competitions.
The performance is especially significant because Pakistan has only established a major presence in international F-Class competition during the past few years.
F-Class Target Rifle shooting requires competitors to fire at extremely long distances while maintaining exceptional accuracy.
At international level, even small changes in wind and atmospheric conditions can significantly influence results.
Pakistanโs medal haul at Bisley therefore represents a major achievement for the countryโs long-range shooting programme.
The individual world title secured by Junaid Ali, combined with the team silver medal and Pakistanโs leading FTR medal tally, has strengthened the countryโs position among the emerging forces in international long-range rifle shooting.
