Corps Commanders Review Security Situation
Field Marshal Asim Munir chaired the 276th Corps Commanders Conference at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi on Monday. The top military leadership reviewed Pakistanโs internal and regional security situation. The forum also paid tribute to the martyrs of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and innocent civilians.
According to the ISPR, the commanders expressed satisfaction over the operational preparedness, professionalism, and combat readiness of the Pakistan Armed Forces. The forum said the sacrifices of martyrs remain the foundation of Pakistanโs security, unity, and resilience.
Afghan Territory Use Raises Serious Concern
The conference expressed serious concern over the use of territory under the control of the Afghan Taliban regime by terrorist groups allegedly backed by India. The forum said these groups were being used to plan and launch attacks inside Pakistan.
The military leadership said lasting peace in the region depends on stopping the use of Afghan Taliban-controlled territory by militant proxies. It added that the Afghan Taliban regime bears direct responsibility in this regard.
The forum reaffirmed Pakistanโs right to defend its people against terrorism. It said the armed forces would continue intelligence-based operations against threats coming from Afghan Taliban-controlled areas under Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq.
Army Vows Response to Hybrid Threats and Water Disputes
The commanders also reviewed what they described as externally supported hybrid warfare and disinformation campaigns against Pakistan. The forum said hostile elements were trying to create unrest after suffering major setbacks. It warned that any attempt to destabilize Pakistan through proxy groups or hybrid tactics would be countered with clear strategy and firm resolve.
The conference also discussed Indian statements regarding the Indus Waters Treaty. The forum reaffirmed the guidance issued by the National Security Committee on April 24, 2025. It said Pakistan would take all necessary measures to secure its rightful share of water in line with government directions and public expectations.
The military leadership also condemned human rights violations and demographic changes in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir. It reaffirmed Pakistanโs diplomatic, political, and moral support for the Kashmiri people and said regional peace depends on their right to self-determination under UN resolutions.
In his closing remarks, Field Marshal Asim Munir directed commanders to speed up the militaryโs multi-domain transformation plan. He also instructed them to maintain high vigilance, operational readiness, and professional excellence to counter conventional, unconventional, and hybrid threats.
