KARACHI: The Pakistan Airports Authority has launched a new daycare center at Jinnah International Airport to support working mothers. Officials say the facility brings much-needed relief to female employees who balance jobs and family responsibilities at one of Pakistanโs busiest airports.
Facility inaugurated with senior officials
The wife of Air Vice Marshal Zeeshan Saeed, Director General of the Pakistan Airports Authority, formally inaugurated the center. Airport manager and other senior officials joined her during the ceremony. PAA designed the daycare specifically for children of female staff working at the airport.
Moreover, the center will admit children aged between three months and three years in its first phase. It will operate from 9am to 5pm initially. Authorities plan to extend services to 24 hours a day in the future so that mothers working in different shifts can benefit fully.
Strong support for working mothers
This initiative reflects PAAโs commitment to creating a more supportive work environment for women. Many female employees now feel encouraged as they can focus on their duties knowing their young children receive proper care nearby. The daycare offers a safe, comfortable space equipped to meet the needs of infants and toddlers.
Additionally, the move highlights growing recognition of gender-friendly policies in public institutions. Working mothers at the airport expressed appreciation for the thoughtful step that eases daily challenges. Officials believe the facility will improve staff morale and productivity while promoting better work-life balance.
The development comes as more women join the aviation workforce in various roles. PAA hopes this daycare becomes a model for other airports across Pakistan. Families and employees now look forward to smooth operations of the new center as it begins serving the airport community. (298 words)
