ISLAMABAD: More than 107,000 Pakistanis have completed online registration for Hajj 2027 within the first five days of the government’s registration campaign, the Ministry of Religious Affairs announced on Saturday.
The registration drive marks the first phase of preparations for next year’s annual pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia. Authorities said registrations continued throughout the Muharram holidays under both the government and private Hajj schemes.
According to the ministry, 107,587 people completed their Hajj registration from home using the online system. Officials described the early response as encouraging as preparations for Hajj 2027 continue.
The ministry said 85,000 applicants selected the government Hajj scheme. Meanwhile, around 22,000 applicants opted for the private Hajj scheme during the initial registration period.
Officials confirmed that the online registration process will remain open for several more days. However, the government will announce Hajj expenses and other operational details during the second phase.
Punjab recorded the highest number of registrations with approximately 51,000 applicants. Sindh followed with 33,000 registrations, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa contributed around 15,000 applicants.
Furthermore, about 2,000 people registered from Balochistan. Islamabad recorded 5,500 registrations, while Azad Kashmir contributed 600 applicants and Gilgit-Baltistan registered two pilgrims.
The ministry said around 63,000 registered applicants are men. In comparison, approximately 44,000 women have also completed the registration process for Hajj 2027.
Most applicants belong to the 25 to 50 age group, according to official figures. Authorities believe this demographic continues to show strong interest in performing the annual pilgrimage.
Additionally, nearly 56,000 applicants selected the long Hajj package. Meanwhile, around 51,000 people opted for the short Hajj package during registration.
Earlier, the ministry announced that the entire Hajj 2027 operation will operate through a fully paperless digital system. The National Information Technology Board developed the end-to-end platform to improve efficiency, transparency and pilgrim services throughout the process.
