Military Threatens Strict Measures Against Propaganda Targeting Armed Forces

Armed Forces

RAWALPINDI: During the 264th Corps Commanders’ Conference, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir raised serious concerns about the detrimental propaganda targeting Pakistan’s armed forces.

He committed to taking decisive action against those attempting to undermine the relationship between the nation and its security personnel by spreading unfounded accusations.

The conference began with a solemn tribute to the martyrs from the armed forces, law enforcement agencies (LEAs), and civilians who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s peace and stability.

This acknowledgement set the tone for the meeting, emphasizing the high cost of maintaining national security.

The forum addressed the growing trend of leveling baseless allegations against the security forces, describing it as part of a larger strategy intended to create divisions between the Pakistani people and their protectors.

The participants unanimously agreed that such actions would not be tolerated, and they vowed to enforce strict measures in accordance with the law and constitution to counteract these efforts.

In addition to addressing internal security issues, the army’s leadership reiterated their commitment to supporting the government’s efforts towards sustainable socioeconomic development.

They discussed their role in tackling illegal activities like smuggling, hoarding, and electricity theft, and the importance of the safe repatriation of illegal foreigners.

The COAS praised the Pakistan Army and LEAs for their relentless efforts in thwarting numerous terrorist plots and eliminating key terrorist leaders during ongoing counterterrorism operations.

He instructed commanders to proactively prevent terrorists from gaining any foothold within the country. The statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) underscored the army’s determination, backed by a resilient nation, to eradicate the scourge of terrorism from Pakistan.

The meeting also addressed the recent terrorist attack on Chinese nationals in Besham and the tragic killings in Balochistan, condemning these acts of violence.

The commanders received briefings on the threats posed by terrorist groups operating from Afghanistan, which not only impact regional security but also target Pakistan’s economic interests, particularly those related to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The forum also touched on international issues, expressing deep concern over Indian aggression in Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and reiterating Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri struggle.

Additionally, the commanders discussed the dire situation in Gaza and the broader Middle East tensions, emphasizing the need for immediate de-escalation to avoid a larger regional conflict.

In his concluding remarks, General Munir directed the commanders to maintain the highest levels of operational preparedness and motivation, urging them to strive for professional excellence through focused and objective training.
