Air Defences Activated After Sirens Sound Across Kuwait
Kuwaitโs military announced on Monday that its air defence systems successfully intercepted what it described as hostile missile and drone attacks, prompting air raid sirens to sound across the country.
In an official statement, the Kuwaiti Army said the explosions heard in several areas were the result of defensive operations carried out against incoming aerial threats. Authorities did not immediately disclose details about the origin of the missiles or drones.
Meanwhile, the state news agency reported that warning sirens echoed across the Gulf nation despite an existing ceasefire framework between the United States and Iran.
The incident highlighted the fragile security situation in the region, where sporadic military exchanges and heightened alert levels continue to raise concerns among governments and international observers.
Furthermore, regional security agencies remain on high alert as diplomatic efforts seek to prevent a wider escalation.
Diplomatic Efforts Continue as Lebanon Proposal Emerges
At the same time, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed that talks and message exchanges between Tehran and Washington remain ongoing through Pakistani mediation.
Speaking to Iranian state media, Araghchi emphasized that negotiations had not yet reached a definitive stage and urged observers not to place importance on media speculation surrounding the discussions.
He stated that the process remains active and that any conclusions about the outcome would be premature until concrete results emerge.
Additionally, diplomatic efforts have expanded beyond the Iran-US track. A US official revealed that Washington has presented a proposal aimed at reducing tensions in Lebanon.
According to the official, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held separate discussions with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding a potential de-escalation framework.
Under the proposed roadmap, Hezbollah would suspend attacks against Israel, while Israel would refrain from expanding military operations, particularly in and around Beirut.
The proposal seeks to create conditions for a gradual reduction in hostilities and ultimately achieve a broader ceasefire arrangement.
As negotiations continue on multiple fronts, regional leaders and international mediators remain focused on preventing further violence and encouraging diplomatic solutions to ongoing conflicts across the Middle East.
