Court Grants Police More Time to Investigate High-Profile Narcotics Case
A court in Karachi has remanded alleged drug network operator Anmol alias Pinky into police custody until May 22 in a major narcotics case that continues to attract nationwide attention.
The accused appeared before a special judicial magistrate on Saturday in connection with a case registered under the Sindh Control of Narcotic Substances Act 2024 at the Specialized Investigation Unit police station.
The court allowed investigators additional time to question Anmol after police claimed the case involved a larger organized narcotics network operating across multiple regions.
Authorities arrested Anmol earlier this week from her apartment in Karachi during a raid linked to narcotics possession and an unlicensed weapon case. Officials confirmed she had already been named in several criminal investigations before the latest arrest.
The high-profile case gained massive public attention after videos and reports related to her court appearances spread across social media platforms.
Police officials say the investigation is now entering a broader phase as authorities attempt to identify additional suspects and financial links connected to the alleged network.
Multiple Courts Hear Police Requests in Several Criminal Cases
Earlier on Saturday, magistrates from Karachi’s South, Central, and Malir districts reserved decisions on police applications seeking physical custody of Anmol in a total of 15 separate cases.
Legal proceedings surrounding the accused have continued rapidly since her arrest earlier this month.
On May 12, police first presented Anmol before a judicial magistrate in Karachi South. At that time, the court rejected the request for police custody and instead ordered judicial remand.
However, a district court later approved a three-day physical remand request submitted by investigators. That remand period expired on Saturday, prompting authorities to seek additional custody for further questioning.
Investigators believe the case may involve a complex narcotics supply structure operating across different provinces. Officials say several leads emerged during interrogation sessions conducted over recent days.
According to police sources, authorities are examining communication records, suspected financial transactions, and possible international connections tied to the alleged network.
The investigation has now become one of Karachi’s most closely watched narcotics cases in recent years due to the scale of allegations and the growing number of linked suspects.
Police Expand Investigation Across Sindh and Punjab
Karachi Police confirmed that a broad investigation is underway after preliminary findings reportedly suggested possible involvement of foreign individuals in the alleged narcotics operation.
Officials say intelligence teams are now coordinating with multiple law enforcement agencies to trace suppliers, distributors, and facilitators connected to the case.
Meanwhile, police in Lahore have reportedly reopened three older criminal cases involving Anmol and her brothers. Authorities in Punjab are now considering legal steps to seek her custody from Sindh for further investigation.
The development has expanded the scope of the case beyond Karachi and increased pressure on law enforcement agencies to uncover the full network.
Investigators are also pursuing suspects identified during Anmol’s questioning. Police sources revealed that one alleged member of the narcotics distribution chain, identified as Tahir Saleem, belongs to Hasilpur in Bahawalpur district.
Following these disclosures, district and regional police teams in Bahawalpur launched search operations to locate and arrest the suspect.
Authorities believe additional raids may take place in the coming days as investigators continue collecting evidence and tracking possible associates.
Police officials have not yet disclosed the total quantity of narcotics linked to the network or the exact scale of its operations. However, they insist the investigation remains active and could lead to more arrests soon.
