Iran’s army targeted US military bases in the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait with missiles and drones. Iranian army announced this development today.
The announcement came despite fresh warnings from US President Donald Trump about possible further strikes against Iran. Iranian state television quoted the army as saying it attacked Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base in Kuwait.
According to the statement, Iranian forces targeted satellite communication systems, equipment depots and fighter aircraft hangars at the base.
The army also said it attacked US forces and radar systems at Al Minhad Air Base in the UAE. Iran claimed it used both missiles and drones during the attacks.
Kuwait Condemns Iranian Strikes
Meanwhile, Kuwait strongly condemned the latest overnight attack targeting its territory.
The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry described the strikes as a direct threat to the country’s security and stability.
It also said the attacks endangered citizens and residents while violating international law.
The ministry called for respect for Kuwait’s sovereignty and territorial integrity amid renewed regional hostilities.
The latest strikes come as tensions between Iran and the United States have escalated again in recent days.
UAE and Trump Discuss Regional Tensions
Meanwhile, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan spoke with US President Donald Trump by phone.
According to the UAE’s state news agency, the leaders discussed the latest developments in the Middle East.
However, the report did not provide specific details about their discussion of the fighting between Iran and the United States.
The talks also covered ways to strengthen bilateral relations and advance the two countries’ mutual interests.
The United States and Iran continue attacks, setting aside the mediation efforts for the ceasefire.
