The Punjab government has opened applications for Phase II of the Chief Ministerโs Magnificent Tourism Internship Program. The three-month paid internship will offer selected graduates Rs. 60,000 per month, with applications closing on September 15, 2026.
The Tourism, Archaeology and Museums Department launched the program to provide practical experience in tourism, archaeology, heritage and museums. The initiative also aims to help young graduates develop professional skills through government placements.
Eligibility Criteria for Tourism Internships
Applicants must hold a Punjab domicile and be between 21 and 28 years old. They also need at least 16 years of education from a Higher Education Commission-recognized institution.
Candidates must have completed a relevant degree within the past two years. Eligible fields include tourism, hospitality, history, archaeology, business administration, marketing, IT and computer science.
The program also accepts graduates from architecture, fine arts, civil engineering, anthropology, economics and museum studies. Furthermore, graduates from heritage studies, media, communication, visual design and similar fields can apply.
Internship Placements and Stipend
The department may place selected interns at tourism, archaeology and museum offices across Punjab. Possible placements include the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab, Department of Tourist Services, Directorate General of Archaeology and Lahore Museum.
Selected interns will receive Rs. 60,000 monthly through banking channels. However, stipend payments will depend on attendance and performance, while the internship will not guarantee permanent employment.
Attendance and Online Application
Interns must record attendance through a GPS-enabled mobile application. They must also follow official working hours, workplace rules and assigned duties.
Each intern can take up to two approved leaves per month. Additional leave may result in stipend deductions under the program rules.
Eligible graduates should apply through the official internship portal and provide accurate personal and educational information. They must also submit required documents, including their domicile and educational records.
Applicants should carefully review their information before submitting the form. The department has also advised candidates not to pay any person or organization for registration.
