Drone Attack Injures Several as Tensions Persist
Senior Iranian officials reiterated support for Hezbollah and called for an Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory while the IDF continued to strike South Lebanon, especially the city of Tyre, Thursday. In a separate development, the Quds Force commander Esmail Qaani stated that Hezbollah seeks the return of Israeli forces to positions held before the current conflict escalated. Additionally, Qaani praised Hezbollah’s actions and expressed confidence that the group would soon see the results of what he described as its resistance efforts. He also emphasized continued support for Lebanese groups opposing Israeli military operations.
Meanwhile, Several people were injured in an Israeli drone strike targeting a vehicle in southern Lebanon on Thursday, despite a newly announced ceasefire agreement reached during talks between Lebanese and Israeli officials in Washington.
The attack occurred amid continued military activity across southern Lebanon, highlighting the fragile nature of the latest truce efforts. Local reports indicated that additional Israeli air and artillery strikes targeted several areas, including Kafra, Mansouri and locations near the Naqoura region.
Furthermore, residents reported extensive drone and fighter jet activity throughout the morning. In the coastal city of Tyre, a drone reportedly flew at a very low altitude, while artillery shelling struck areas deeper inside Lebanese territory.
In the town of Kfar Tibnit, a drone strike near the main roundabout wounded several people, according to local sources. Civil defence authorities urged residents not to return to southern areas despite the ceasefire announcement, citing ongoing security risks and the presence of unexploded ordnance.
Hezbollah and Iran Signal Continued Pressure on Israel
Before the ceasefire announcement, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for a series of attacks against Israeli forces. The group said it launched a barrage of rockets at Israeli troops near Qantara in southern Lebanon and deployed drones against military positions around the strategically important Beaufort Castle area.
Despite diplomatic progress in Washington, the security situation on the ground remains highly volatile. Ongoing strikes, military deployments and conflicting statements from regional actors continue to raise concerns about whether the ceasefire can hold and pave the way for a lasting reduction in hostilities.
