Senior official says retaliation file remains active as leadership highlights national security doctrine
Iran’s Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council said the country remains committed to pursuing accountability for the killing of the “martyred Leader” and other individuals it describes as victims of recent attacks, declaring that the case remains active and will continue until those responsible are brought to justice.
Speaking in remarks carried by Iranian media, the official described the clenched fist of the late leader at the moment of his death as an enduring symbol of Iran’s national security doctrine and national resolve. He said the image represented the country’s determination to defend its sovereignty and confront external threats.
The senior official stressed that Iran would not close what he called the “file of vengeance,” adding that authorities would continue efforts to identify and pursue those accused of planning, authorising or carrying out the attacks.
Officials reaffirm determination to pursue those deemed responsible
According to the statement, Iranian authorities believe those responsible for the deaths of the late leader and other victims will eventually face justice. The official said the process would move forward through what he described as “competent authorities,” while insisting that accountability would be achieved without unnecessary delay.
He added that the deaths had strengthened Iran’s commitment to its security strategy and reinforced national unity during a period of heightened regional tensions. The official also argued that the country’s response would remain consistent with its long-term security objectives.
Leadership links security policy to recent developments
The remarks come as Iranian leaders continue issuing statements following recent regional conflicts and political developments. Officials have repeatedly emphasised that the country will safeguard its national interests and respond to actions it considers hostile.
Meanwhile, Iranian authorities have continued to frame recent events as part of a broader campaign against the Islamic Republic, maintaining that preserving national security remains a central priority. The latest statement reinforces Tehran’s position that accountability for those killed remains an unresolved issue and that efforts to pursue those deemed responsible will continue through official channels.
