Iranโs Iran Foreign Ministry said on Monday that actions by the United States and Israel are causing delays in ongoing diplomatic efforts, citing a lack of trust and shifting positions as key obstacles.
Foreign ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said that inconsistent policy statements from the United States, along with Israeli actions in Lebanon, are disrupting the diplomatic process. He made these remarks during a weekly press briefing in Tehran.
Baghaei stated that Iran views stability in Lebanon as an essential component of any broader agreement aimed at ending regional hostilities involving the United States. He added that a ceasefire in Lebanon must be considered an integral part of any future diplomatic framework.
The spokesperson said Iran believes the current diplomatic process has slowed due to repeated changes in positions by Washington, which has reduced confidence between the parties. He also pointed to ongoing tensions in Lebanon as a major factor affecting negotiations.
Iranโs foreign ministry reiterated that progress in talks depends on trust-building measures and a reduction in military escalation across the region. Officials said Tehran continues to monitor developments but insists that meaningful negotiations cannot advance without addressing conditions on the ground.
The statement reflects Iranโs continued position that regional conflicts and external military actions are directly linked to the pace and success of diplomatic engagement. Authorities emphasized that any future agreement must include broader regional stability measures, including ceasefire arrangements in affected conflict zones.
