Iranโs military has announced a $30,000 bounty for anyone who captures or kills an American soldier amid escalating tensions with Washington.
According to Iranian state media reports, Army Chief Amir Hatami announced the reward on Sunday.
Hatami said anyone who captures and hands over an invading US service member would receive the equivalent of $30,000.
He added that the reward would double if an Iranian woman carried out the action.
The announcement followed what Hatami described as growing public requests to participate in financial support for the conflict.
However, Iranian authorities did not specify where or when individuals could encounter American troops.
There has been no known deployment of US ground forces inside Iran during the conflict, apart from an April rescue mission.
Iran Escalates Rhetoric Against Washington
The bounty marks another sharp escalation in hostile rhetoric between Tehran and Washington as fighting continues across the region.
The current conflict began on February 28 after the United States and Israel launched attacks against Iran.
A ceasefire followed weeks of fighting, but subsequent peace efforts have failed to produce a lasting settlement.
Meanwhile, Iran and the United States have continued exchanging fire, with tensions also surrounding the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.
The latest Iranian announcement comes as diplomatic efforts remain uncertain and both sides continue issuing increasingly aggressive statements.
The development further highlights the fragile security situation and growing risks of renewed military escalation between Iran and the United States.
