Iran has targeted US military facilities in Kuwait and Jordan with missiles and kamikaze drones. The attacks followed another wave of American strikes against Iranian military sites.
Iranian state media reported that the military launched the operations in response to recent US attacks. Meanwhile, regional tensions continued rising across the Middle East.
Iran Targets US Facilities in Kuwait and Jordan
According to state broadcaster IRIB, Iran struck US communication systems and fuel storage facilities in Jordan. The military reportedly used suicide drones during the operation.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps also claimed responsibility for a combined missile and drone attack. It said the operation targeted Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait.
The IRGC stated it struck a C-RAM early-warning radar and a gathering point for US troops. Additionally, it accused Washington of using Kuwaiti territory to launch attacks against Iran.
Meanwhile, the US Central Command confirmed completing another round of strikes on Iranian targets. Officials said American forces attacked command centres, air defence systems, missile facilities, and drone capabilities.
US forces also targeted Bandar Abbas, home to Iranโs largest port and key naval installations. Furthermore, officials said the operation aimed to reduce threats against shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
Regional Tensions Continue to Escalate
Explosions were reported across Tehran and several other Iranian cities following the US strikes. However, Iranian authorities said no casualties had been officially reported in Tehran.
The US military also said one aircraft disabled an empty oil tanker attempting to breach Iranโs naval blockade. Officials stated the vessel was stopped after Hellfire missiles struck its smokestack.
Iranโs Revolutionary Guards further claimed attacks on the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain. Meanwhile, Jordan intercepted three Iranian missiles, while coalition forces downed explosive drones over Iraqโs Erbil region.
President Donald Trump warned that broader attacks could follow unless Iran returned to negotiations. Nevertheless, both sides have not formally abandoned their existing memorandum of understanding.
