White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller has claimed that Iran agreed to the complete reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and offered several additional concessions during ongoing negotiations with the United States.
Speaking in an interview with Fox News, Miller described the reported concessions as โsignificant, material, and dramatic,โ adding that such developments would have seemed impossible only a short time ago. However, he stressed that no final agreement has been reached so far.
Miller stated that discussions between Washington and Tehran remain ongoing, while details of other concessions would be revealed in the coming days. He suggested that the negotiations had made substantial progress, although both sides were still working toward a final understanding.
At the same time, Miller emphasized that US President Donald Trump remained directly involved in the negotiation process and continued to oversee every major decision personally. He said Trump alone would decide whether any future action was necessary to protect American national security interests.
โPresident Trump has been clear that he reserves the option now or any time in the future to do whatever is necessary to defend and protect Americaโs national security,โ Miller said during the interview.
He further noted that Trump was closely monitoring the talks to ensure that any outcome met his expectations and strategic objectives. According to Miller, the president continued to play a central role in shaping the direction of discussions with Iran.
Meanwhile, the Strait of Hormuz remains one of the worldโs most strategically important waterways because a significant portion of global oil shipments passes through the route. Therefore, any agreement regarding its reopening could have major economic and geopolitical implications for the international community.
Neither Iranian officials nor the White House released further details regarding the reported concessions or the status of the negotiations.
