Woman Recovers Rs19.2 Million After Court Intervention
A visually impaired woman defrauded by a bank manager has recovered Rs19.2 million after intervention by the Islamabad High Court.
The court has now ordered that two vehicles owned by the convicted bank manager be handed over to the woman to settle the remaining amount.
According to reports, the case was heard by Justice Azam Khan and Justice Inam Ameen Minhas.
The woman’s lawyer told the court that she had already received Rs15.9 million. He said cheques worth more than Rs3.3 million were also handed over to her.
The recovery has brought the total amount received by the victim to Rs19.2 million.
FIA Directed to Recover Manager’s Cars
The Islamabad High Court directed the Federal Investigation Agency to recover both vehicles belonging to bank manager Rameez Javed.
The court ordered that the vehicles be handed over to the visually impaired woman against the outstanding dues.
The Assistant Attorney General informed the court that the vehicles would be recovered and transferred to the woman within one week.
The court also directed the FIA to submit a report on the recovery process.
The hearing was then adjourned until July 7.
Bank Manager Serving Sentence in Adiala Jail
Bank manager Rameez Javed has already been convicted in the fraud case.
He is currently imprisoned in Adiala Jail.
According to the victim’s lawyer, the allegation that the bank manager embezzled more than Rs20 million from the visually impaired woman has been proven.
The trial court had sentenced the bank manager to five years in prison after the fraud was established.
The case highlights serious concerns about financial abuse, bank fraud, and the protection of vulnerable citizens.
The Islamabad High Court’s latest order is aimed at ensuring that the victim receives the remaining amount owed to her.
The court’s direction to hand over the manager’s vehicles is an important step in the recovery process.
Authorities are now expected to complete the transfer within the given time.
