Petrol Reduced by Rs2 Per Litre
The federal government has decided to reduce the price of petrol at the start of fiscal year 2026-27.
According to verified sources, petrol will become cheaper by Rs2 per litre.
After the reduction, the new petrol price will stand at Rs297 per litre.
The revised rate is expected to provide limited relief to consumers facing high transport and living costs.
An official notification from the Petroleum Division is expected soon to confirm the new prices.
The new fuel rates will remain effective for the next seven days.
Diesel Price Kept at Rs315 Per Litre
The government has decided to keep the price of high-speed diesel unchanged.
Diesel will remain at Rs315 per litre during the new pricing period.
High-speed diesel is widely used in transport, agriculture, and industrial activity.
Any change in diesel prices can directly affect freight charges, food supply costs, and inflation.
The decision to keep diesel unchanged may help avoid further pressure on transporters and businesses.
However, consumers will continue to face high fuel costs despite the small reduction in petrol prices.
Climate Levy Already Added to Fuel Prices
The latest fuel adjustment comes after recent changes under the Finance Act 2026.
Last week, petrol prices were kept unchanged. A climate levy of Rs5 per litre was also imposed on petrol and diesel.
On June 26, petrol was maintained at Rs299 per litre. Diesel was also retained at its previous notified level at that time.
The fresh reduction brings petrol down to Rs297 per litre.
Fuel prices in Pakistan are reviewed regularly based on international oil rates, exchange rate movements, taxes, levies, and government policy decisions.
The official notification will provide final confirmation of the revised rates and their implementation date.
For now, petrol users will receive a small price cut, while diesel consumers will see no change in the latest weekly adjustment.
