Germanyโs domestic intelligence agency has launched a dedicated hotline for exiled groups and political dissidents facing threats from foreign operatives.
The Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) announced the initiative on Thursday through a new information brochure.
The hotline targets people who fled authoritarian governments and now face intimidation, surveillance or physical violence in Germany.
Hotline focuses on foreign threats
The BfV said the initiative will help intelligence analysts identify, map and disrupt foreign operative networks across Europe.
The agency has placed particular emphasis on threats linked to Russia, while also monitoring activities involving Iran and China.
Officials encouraged victims to report suspected state-sponsored harassment and provide information about incidents.
According to the BfV, such information could support ongoing investigations and help authorities prevent active threats.
The agency said investigators can identify those responsible through their own inquiries and information supplied by affected individuals.
Germany strengthens intelligence capabilities
Meanwhile, the hotline comes as Germany considers expanding intelligence powers to counter foreign interference.
Officials have described cyberattacks and hybrid operations as growing security challenges for the country.
The proposed measures could allow intelligence services to hack communications and disrupt activities linked to foreign adversaries.
Furthermore, authorities are seeking stronger tools to protect dissidents and vulnerable communities from state-backed intimidation.
The initiative reflects Germanyโs broader efforts to counter foreign espionage, influence operations and security threats within its territory.
