Heavy rain and thunderstorms brought relief from intense heat across several cities on Wednesday. However, severe weather also caused deadly incidents across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Balochistan, leaving at least seven people dead and 35 others injured.
Authorities have also warned that additional weather threats may emerge in the coming days, including flash floods, glacial lake outbursts, and landslides in vulnerable areas.
While many residents welcomed cooler temperatures, emergency teams remained active as weather-related damage spread across multiple districts.
Rain Brings Cooler Weather Across Major Cities
After days of intense heat, strong winds and rainfall transformed weather conditions in several urban areas.
Lahore, Gujranwala, Chakwal, Sheikhupura, Narowal, Jehlum, and the twin cities experienced cooler temperatures following evening showers.
However, changing weather conditions quickly turned dangerous in several regions.

Among those who died was one woman.
Emergency responders shifted both injured individuals and the deceased to hospital facilities.
Authorities continued assessing structural damage in affected communities.
Flash Floods and Infrastructure Damage Raise Concerns
Beyond casualties, weather conditions also caused widespread infrastructure damage.
In Lower Chitral, torrential rain and a cloudburst damaged 27 houses.
Floodwaters also affected two mosques, two shops, a bridge, and four vehicles.
In Upper Chitralโs Yarkhun area of Mastuj, flash floods damaged irrigation canals and another residential structure.
Meanwhile, strong winds in Islamabadโs F-7 sector uprooted a tree.
The fallen tree struck a parked vehicle and damaged its roof and windshields before municipal teams cleared the area.
Authorities Warn of More Weather Risks Ahead
Officials have urged residents to remain cautious as weather patterns continue changing.
Authorities warned that heavy rainfall may increase the risk of flash flooding, landslides, and glacial lake outburst events in vulnerable regions.
Emergency agencies advised people to avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather and stay informed through official alerts.
Although rainfall brought temporary relief from extreme heat, authorities stressed that safety precautions remain essential in the days ahead.
