France has banned Israeli government representatives from attending the upcoming Israel-France defence dispute at the prestigious Eurosatory defence exhibition in Paris, according to Israelโs Defence Ministry. The decision has sparked fresh tensions between the two countries and raised questions about diplomatic relations amid ongoing regional conflicts.
The ministry announced on Monday that French authorities had informed Israeli officials that they would not be allowed to participate in the international defence event scheduled to take place later this month. Consequently, Israeli government delegates will not attend one of the world’s largest defence and security exhibitions.
Restrictions on Israeli Defence Industry
In addition to the ban on officials, France has imposed restrictions on Israeli weapons manufacturers participating in the defence exhibition in Paris. French authorities will only allow Israeli companies to display air defence products and other defensive technologies. However, they have prohibited exhibitors from showcasing offensive weapons systems.
The restriction affects several companies that planned to present advanced military equipment and combat-related technologies. As a result, Israeli defence firms must adjust their displays to comply with the new regulations.
Diplomatic Tensions Increase
Meanwhile, the decision has intensified discussions surrounding the relationship between France and Israel. Analysts believe the move reflects growing political sensitivities regarding the ongoing security situation in the Middle East. Furthermore, the restrictions may influence future cooperation between the two nations in the defence sector.
The Eurosatory defence exhibition attracts military officials, security experts, and defence companies from around the world. Therefore, Franceโs decision regarding Israeli defence companies is expected to receive significant international attention in the coming weeks.
