Government moves to strengthen administrative structure
The federal government has implemented a new round of bureaucratic appointments and transfers, according to official notifications issued by the Establishment Division. These changes form part of ongoing efforts to streamline administrative functions and enhance institutional performance.
Under the latest reshuffle, Ahsan Ali Mangi, who previously served as Director General of the National Institute of Public Administration in Islamabad, has assumed the role of Special Secretary in the Industries and Production Division. Officials expect his experience in public administration to support policy execution and sectoral coordination.
At the same time, authorities transferred Mushtaq Ahmed, a Grade 20 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service. He had been serving in the Gilgit-Baltistan government. The Establishment Division has now placed his services at the disposal of the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan for one year. This move aims to reinforce legal and institutional capacity within the commission.
Changes aim to improve governance efficiency
In another development, the government appointed Abdul Jabbar, previously serving as an Officer on Special Duty, as Joint Secretary in the Law and Justice Division. This appointment reflects a continued emphasis on strengthening legal administration and improving interdepartmental coordination.
Officials stated that such transfers and postings occur routinely within the civil service framework. However, they emphasized that these adjustments play a crucial role in maintaining efficiency, ensuring accountability, and aligning talent with evolving governance needs.
Consequently, the latest reshuffle highlights the governmentโs focus on administrative continuity while adapting to emerging challenges across key departments.
