Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has highlighted her government’s governance reforms and public welfare initiatives. Officials say the administration has expanded development projects across several key sectors.
The provincial government says it has focused on agriculture, transport, education, and public services. Furthermore, it maintains that available resources should directly benefit the people of Punjab.
According to the government, these initiatives have been implemented during Maryam Nawazโs two years and four months in office. Officials describe the reforms as part of a broader development agenda.
Agriculture Programmes Expand Across Punjab
The government says agriculture remains central to Punjabโs economy and development strategy. Therefore, it has introduced several initiatives aimed at supporting farmers.
Officials state that 30,000 Green Tractors have been distributed with subsidies of up to Rs1 million each. Additionally, 1,000 Green Tractors have been provided free to wheat growers.
The government also launched the Kissan Card programme, distributing 900,000 cards to farmers. Authorities expect the total number of beneficiaries to reach one million soon.
Moreover, officials say 8,000 tube wells are being solarised while 5,000 Super Seeders have been distributed. Agriculture Malls have also opened in Faisalabad, Jhang, Okara, and Khanewal.
Transport and Student Support Programmes Continue
The Punjab government says more than 1,100 electric buses now operate across the province. These buses provide air-conditioned travel, Wi-Fi, and environmentally friendly public transport.
Officials have announced plans to expand electric bus services to all 147 tehsils. Over the next five years, the government aims to introduce a fleet of 5,000 electric buses.
Meanwhile, the administration says it distributed 2,178 electric bikes to students during its first year. Officials add that South Punjab continues receiving priority in major development programmes.
