At least six people, including two prominent tribal leaders, lost their lives in separate gun attacks across Balochistan, according to reports released on Monday. The incidents occurred in Qilla Abdullah and Dalbandin, raising fresh concerns about security in the province. Meanwhile, local authorities launched investigations to identify and arrest the attackers.
Tribal Leader Among Five Killed in Qilla Abdullah
In the first attack, unidentified gunmen opened fire near Nadra Market in Mazayi Adda, Qilla Abdullah, on Sunday night. As a result, tribal leader Dad Muhammad Kakar and four other individuals died on the spot. The attackers fled the scene immediately after carrying out the assault.
Furthermore, the attack left two people injured, including Syed Jaffer Agha, President of the Karachi Hotels Association. Rescue teams rushed the injured to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Security personnel also collected evidence from the crime scene and began an inquiry into the incident.
Following the deadly attack, local tribesmen organized a strong protest. They placed the bodies of the victims on the Quetta-Chaman Highway and demanded immediate action against those responsible. Consequently, traffic on the highway faced significant disruption during the demonstration.
Armed Attack Claims Life of Rekki Tribe Elder in Balochistan Gun Attacks
In a separate incident in Dalbandin, armed assailants targeted Malik Abdul Bari Rekki, a respected elder of the Rekki tribe. According to sources, the attackers killed him during the assault and injured another man.
Soon afterward, security personnel shifted the deceased and the injured individual to Shaikh Fahad bin Sultan Hospital in Chaghi. Authorities have intensified efforts to trace the attackers, while residents continue to demand stronger security measures across the region.
