Foreign Woman Reportedly Left Airport Willingly
Police investigation has found no evidence to support the alleged kidnapping of a foreign woman from Lahore Airport. Officials said the initial findings suggest that the woman left the airport voluntarily.
The foreign national has been identified as Sofia. According to police investigators, she willingly accompanied a Pakistani citizen named Noman after arriving in Pakistan.
Police sources said the kidnapping claim appears to be baseless at this stage. They said available evidence does not show any sign of force, pressure or coercion.
The case had created concern after allegations emerged that Sofia was abducted from Lahore Airport. However, investigators now believe the situation may be linked to personal contacts rather than a criminal abduction.
Previous Visit and Hunza Connection Under Review
Police said Sofia had visited Pakistan earlier in March this year. During that trip, she reportedly met a young man named Ahmed. She later travelled with him to Hunza as part of a tourist visit.
Investigators said Sofia also met Noman during her stay in Hunza. According to the inquiry, she had already planned another visit to Hunza with Noman before arriving in Pakistan again.
Police officials said the evidence collected so far shows Sofia left Lahore Airport with Noman by choice. They added that no proof has been found to confirm that she was taken against her will.
Authorities are now reviewing travel details, communication records and statements from people linked to the case.
Complainantโs Claim Also Questioned
Another key development involves the man who initially claimed to be Sofiaโs husband. Police said the complainant is a Nepalese national and is not Sofiaโs legal husband.
Investigators revealed that Sofia had met the Nepalese citizen while living in Switzerland. Police said the Nepalese man arrived in Pakistan separately, while Sofia travelled from Switzerland.
The case was registered at Sarwar Road Police Station. Police said the matter is still under investigation and further inquiries are being conducted.
Officials added that a final conclusion will be reached after all statements, records and evidence are reviewed.
For now, police maintain that the alleged kidnapping claim has not been supported by the evidence gathered during the investigation.
