Cricket Legend Reflects on Spiritual Journey
Former Pakistan cricket captain Wasim Akram has shared details about his recent Hajj experience, describing it as a deeply spiritual journey filled with reflection and gratitude.
Speaking during a conversation with television host Fakhar-e-Alam, Akram said the pilgrimage itself was not physically demanding for him. However, he admitted that some moments became emotionally challenging due to constant public attention.
The former fast-bowling great said he was overwhelmed by the love and admiration shown by people throughout the pilgrimage. At the same time, he highlighted the importance of maintaining focus on worship in sacred places.
Selfie Requests Interrupted Moments of Prayer
Akram revealed that he was frequently approached by pilgrims seeking photographs during his stay in the holy cities. While he appreciates the affection of fans, he said certain situations left him disappointed.
Recalling one particular incident in Mina, the cricket icon said he was deeply engaged in prayer when someone interrupted him for a selfie. He noted that such moments should be treated with greater respect, especially in places dedicated to worship and spiritual reflection.
According to Akram, pilgrims should remain mindful of the sanctity of religious sites and avoid disrupting others during prayer. He stressed that devotion and worship should remain the primary focus during Hajj.
