Two labourers from Sindh were killed after unidentified armed assailants opened fire on them in Kalatak, Kech district, Balochistan. According to police, the victims were selling bananas from a pushcart in Kalatak Bazaar when the attackers targeted them.
The incident occurred on Friday and has raised concerns over the safety of workers in the area.
Labourers Targeted at Kalatak Bazaar
Police said the two men were working as banana sellers at the market when armed assailants opened fire.
The attackers were reportedly riding motorcycles during the shooting. They fled the area after targeting the labourers.
Police reached the scene soon after receiving information about the incident.
However, the motive behind the attack has not yet been established.
Victims Belonged to Sindh
Police identified the deceased as Saddam Rind and Zaheer Ali.
Saddam Rind belonged to Shaheed Benazirabad district in Sindh. Meanwhile, Zaheer Ali was a resident of Kashmore district.
Both men had reportedly travelled to Balochistan for work.
Their bodies were shifted to the Teaching Hospital in Turbat after police reached the scene.
Investigation Underway
Police have launched an investigation into the shooting and are collecting information about the attackers. Authorities are also expected to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine the motive behind the killings.
For now, the identities of the armed assailants remain unknown. Police have not announced any arrests in connection with the attack. Further investigation will determine whether the incident was linked to a wider security issue or a personal dispute.
