Police launch manhunt after gunmen kill Abdullah Ahmed in Sector G-13 park and flee the scene
ISLAMABAD: Armed robbers shot dead a Chartered Accountancy student after he reportedly resisted a robbery attempt at a park in Islamabad’s Sector G-13 on Monday, prompting police to launch a search for the attackers.
Islamabad Police identified the victim as Abdullah Ahmed. According to preliminary information, armed suspects approached the young man and attempted to rob him inside the park.
However, when Abdullah resisted, the assailants opened fire and escaped from the area. The gunfire left the student critically wounded, and he subsequently died from his injuries.
Police reached the scene following the incident and began collecting evidence as part of the investigation.
Police Launch Search for Attackers
Sumbal Police Station registered a case over the killing, while investigators began efforts to identify and trace those responsible.
Islamabad Police said authorities were using all available resources to arrest the suspects and determine the circumstances surrounding the deadly robbery.
Furthermore, police expressed confidence that investigators would locate the attackers soon and bring them before the courts.
The killing has once again raised concerns about street crime and public safety in residential areas of the federal capital.
Wanted Suspect Arrested in Separate Case
Meanwhile, Karachi Company Police arrested a proclaimed offender wanted in connection with an alleged cheque dishonour case involving Rs52.5 million.
According to Islamabad Police, authorities had registered cases against the suspect at seven police stations across the capital.
Police said Kohsar, Margalla, Shalimar and Hamak police stations were also seeking the accused in separate cases involving financial disputes worth millions of rupees.
Authorities have taken the suspect into custody and initiated further legal proceedings.
Police said they would continue operations against wanted suspects and criminal networks across Islamabad as part of efforts to improve security and enforce the law throughout the federal capital.
