A deadly road accident in Tharparkar claimed five lives after a speeding dumper truck collided with a passenger coach. The crash occurred on Mithi-Badin Road on Friday.
According to reports, the dumper was travelling on the wrong side of the road when it struck the coach. Five passengers travelling in the coach died at the scene.
Seven other passengers suffered injuries in the accident. Rescue teams shifted the injured to Civil Hospital Mithi for immediate medical treatment.
Four Injured Passengers in Critical Condition
The Medical Superintendent of Civil Hospital Mithi said four injured passengers were in critical condition. They were subsequently referred to another hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, three other injured passengers remain under treatment at Civil Hospital Mithi. Their treatment is continuing at the facility following the accident.
The crash has once again highlighted the deadly consequences of road accidents involving heavy vehicles. However, the available information only confirms the circumstances reported at the scene.
Tharparkar Crash Comes After Fatal Khanpur Accident
The Tharparkar accident occurred weeks after another fatal road crash in Khanpur. That accident claimed the lives of seven wedding guests on September 6.
More than 60 people also suffered injuries when a tractor trolley carrying wedding guests collided with a trailer on the National Highway.
According to reports, the tractor trolley was travelling from Sardar Garh to Zahir Pir. It collided head-on with an oncoming trailer during the journey.
Four people died at the scene, while more than 60 others sustained injuries in the crash.
Rescue Teams Shift Bodies and Injured
Following the Khanpur accident, the local administration and rescue teams reached the site. They recovered the bodies and injured passengers from the crash scene.
The victims and injured people were then shifted to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
In the latest Tharparkar crash, seven injured passengers were also taken to Civil Hospital Mithi. Four were later referred elsewhere because of their critical condition.
The latest accident has left five passengers dead, while three injured people continue receiving treatment at Civil Hospital Mithi.
